The Congress of civil-law notaries has, as the case may be, the following attributions:

• Shall adopt, by resolution, additions or amendments on the Statute of the Union and the Statute of the Notarial Insurance House, excluding the modifications adopted between congresses by the Union’s Council, as provided by art. 53 paragraph (6);
• Shall adopt the Deontological Code of civil-law notaries, the additions and modifications brought to it, under the conditions provided by the Statute;
• Validates, by resolution, the election of the Chamber’s representatives and their alternate members in the Union’s Council, under the conditions provided by the Statute;
• Validates, by resolution, the election, of the members of the Union’s Council, of the president and vice-presidents, under the conditions provided in the Statute;
• Validates, by resolution, the election of the member of the Council of Discipline, under the conditions provided in the Statute;
• Debates the professional problems of general interest and adopts, by simple majority, resolutions regarding the matters discussed;
• Approves the report of the Council of the Union and of Commission of Censors, the budgetary execution and discharge;
• Performs any other duties within its jurisdiction by law, regulation or statute
