The Steering Committee of the Chamber of Civil-law Notaries is composed of one president, which is also the President of the Chamber, one vice-president, also the vice-president of the Chamber, and 3 to 7 members. The Steering Committee of the Chamber is elected by the General Assembly of the Chamber, under the conditions provided in the statute of the Union, for a mandate of four years, of the notaries operating in the Chamber.

- organizes the exam to acquire the quality of notary on probation;
- establishes the notarial offices where the practical preparation of the notaries on probation will take place;
- supervises the theoretical and practical preparation of the notaries on probation;
- replaces, on request or by default, the notarial office where the practical training takes place;
- proposes to the General Assembly of the Chamber the update of the number of civil-law notaries and the number of positions intended for the change of seats;
- approves the number of positions intended for the acquirement of the quality of notary on probation;
- it draws up the legal documentation and ensures current consulting and information of civil-law notaries;
- it keeps the evidence of the incomes and expenses of the Chamber and of the contribution of its members;
- establishes the commission for inventory and liquidation of notarial offices, in case of suspension or cessation;
- it may grant support and material help to civil-law notaries, in well justified cases;
- it designates a member of the Steering Committee of the Chamber or another civil-law notary from the Chamber that needs to perform the mentions on revocation, cancellation, correction of the notarial deeds from the archive of the Chamber;
- approves, at the proposal of the president, the organizational chart and the list of positions for the specialty personnel and administrative personnel of the Chamber;
- organizes, on the request of the civil-law notary, the sale with auction of the goods for the liquidation of successional debts, by the civil-law notary;
- it fulfils any other attributions stipulated by Law, regulation, statute or other internal regulatory acts.
